Margaret "Peggie" Thornton

Margaret Mary "Peggie" Thornton, a retired nurse and life long resident of Alta Loma, California died unexpectantly on September 1, 2019 at age 72. She is survived by her husband of 42 years: Clark Thornton, her children: Stacy, Robert and Shane, her grandchildren: Jonathan, Breanna, Andrew, Allison, Shayna Parker, Skyler and Noelle, her great-grandchildren: Gavin, Tyler, Sean Michael, Brenton, Olivia and Noah, and her siblings: James, Patricia and Mary Colleen. Peggie was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 21, 1947 with her twin James to Edmund and Margaret Oliver. In 1956 her family moved to California. Peggie chose her career in nursing early in life and had a beautiful 35 year career at Lanterman State Hospital where she retired as Program Administrator. She was born to care for people and she did it passionately. Peggie enjoyed her years of retirement surrounded by all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an active member and servant to her church, St. Peter & St. Paul of Alta Loma where she served on Heart of Mary and Funeral Services Committee. Peggie was the devoted matriarch of her family who loved to "play in the dirt" which she called her gardening. She loved longs walks with her dog Bailey, country music concerts and even more slot machines. Services will be held at St. Peter and St. Paul Parish in Alta Loma.
