Euclid Gregory Montgomery

July 4, 1941 - March 29, 2017

Euclid Gregory Montgomery was born on July 4, 1941 in Madison, Arkansas to the union of Thomas Sr. and Beatrice Montgomery. Euclid accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at a young age under Pastor R.B. Bland at Madison Light Baptist Church. In 1961, Euclid moved to Toledo, Ohio where he met and married Pearlie Johnson. Together they moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1963 where they gave light to four children: sons Terry, Euclid Jr., Darrell, and daughter Tina. In 1973, the Montgomery family moved to Pomona, California and joined New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop L.B. Williams until 1991. In 1992, the family began to worship at Love Sanctuary Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Jesse L. Malone, who was then succeeded by Elder Leo Smith in 2004. The church then changed their name to Love Sanctuary Community Church and Euclid remained there until his death. Euclid loved to fish with his brother Al and son Darrell. He sang in the church choir for 40 years along with singing on the church prayer line. Euclid served as a deacon for 35 years, encouraging and mentoring the young junior deacons coming along. Aside from serving in the church, Euclid also worked at Xerox and United Insurance Company until his retirement in 1993. After his retirement, Euclid helped his daughter Tina care for her son Patrick while she worked. Euclid leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 55 years, Pearlie Montgomery, sons Terry and Darrell, daughter Tina (Christelain), grandchildren Kamesha and Patrick, adopted grandchildren LaTisha, Ramond, Davonna, Davion, Janisha, and Lil’ Mary, brothers Eugene, Fred, Frederick, and Robert, sisters Elizabeth, Dorothy, Texanna, Eloise (John), and Alberta, special friends Cleotis Matthews and Charles White, and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by son Euclid Gregory Jr., brother Ricardo, Thomas Jr., and Alfred, and sisters Delores and Mary. Euclid was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
