Carmela Adragna
October 7, 1931 - December 13, 2018
Carmela Adragna, 87, went to heaven on December 13, 2018 and is now free from pain and suffering. She resided in Rancho Cucamonga, CA and was born in Bagheria, Sicily on October 7, 1931 to parents, Giuseppe Sparacino and Margherita Pintacuda. Carmela grew up in Palermo, Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1956. She later married Vito Adragna in Palermo Sicily on June 25, 1960 and convinced him to start their life together in Utica, NY. She was educated in Italy and studied secretarial administration and learned English so she could prepare for her new life in America where she would be closer to her beloved grandmother, Carmela Pintacuda. She will be deeply missed by her devoted and loving husband of 58 years, Vito Adragna, and her 3 children, Grace Adragna-Cappelli (spouse Michael Cappelli), Margherita Adragna (Michael McIlwrath), and Anthony Adragna (Veronica). Her grandchildren, Julia Morbidini, Vito Morbidini, Giuliano Adragna, Giovanni Cappelli and Athena Cappelli will miss her quick wit and sarcastic remarks. Carmela was a devoted wife and mother. She chose to be a stay-at-home mom and wife so her children and husband lacked nothing. Carmela is also leaving many memories behind for her younger sister, Maria Sparacino. Maria’s loss is extremely heartfelt because Carmela was her last surviving sister. She loved baking cookies and sweets for her family and neighbors. At Christmas, she enjoyed hand delivering her baked goods to her neighbors. She loved walking, shopping and dancing. She enjoyed dressing up for an evening of dance with her husband. Services will be held 6PM, Friday, December 14, 2018 at Chaffey Communities Cultural Center, 525 W. 18th Street, Upland, CA. conducted by Pastor Gary Williams. Entombment will be held at a later date at Bellevue Mausoleum, Ontario, CA. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. https://www.alz.org/
